In March 2011, PTT Public Company Limited (PTT) and the Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation (MCC), two large and well-known corporations in Thailand and Japan, formed a joint venture company named PTT MCC Biochem Company Limited (PTTMCC) with the intention of focusing solely on the bio-chemical industry. It is the shareholders of PTT and MCC intention to create products of benefit to mankind and to build a greener world. Consequently, PTTMCC, as the representative of the mother companies, is determined to produce bio-chemical products that will initiate change for a better future. We have launched our first project with the first Polybutylene Succinate (PBS) Plant in Thailand, which is also the first bio-based PBS plant (Tradename BioPBS) in the world, and are aiming for a commercial run in 2015. BioPBS is 100% biodegradable plastic whose raw material is sugar or cassava from Thailand, which supplies BioPBS globally. However, the BioPBS project is only our first step. PTTMCC will continue to develop and create new bio-chemical products that will help to save the world for the future. Our aim is to become a leading Bio-Driver in order to create a greener world.
